Copper Kitchen Sinks

Copper sinks are supplied coated with a thin transit lacquer to protect them before delivery, and this should be removed before installation by ising a lacquer stripper. This is easy to do: -

* the remover should be wiped on and left for 10 minutes

* then wiped and rinsed off using warm water

The sink is then ready for installation.

We are all familiar with the patina that develpes with copper: loved and cared for it will change in colour, it will always be unique to you.
Your copper bowl will arrive a golden or toffee-brown colour and the patina will develop. You can control the colour which can be sealed to maintain the stage it has reached, or enhanced by the application of beeswax and buffed to a desired hue. Afterwards your sink will require only minimal care, allow the sink to look after itself. If you want it to retain its patina, you must NEVER clean with anything abrasive but simply rinse after each use and occasionally wash it with soap and hot water for a more thorough cleansing.

All copper sinks are all handmade so measurements shown may vary slightly to a maximum tolerance of +/-2%. This is important when you are considering the manufacture of the cabinets around your sink or worktops. We recommend you wait for the arrival of your sink, in order to make the worktop to its dimensions and save the expense of any adjustments on installation. On sinks and bowls that have either a flat rim or a rolled rim, some adjustment may be necessary when fitting - this is very easy to do as the rims can be easily modified using a rubber mallet to ensure a perfect fit.
